Surfin' USA

Sooooo California! I was invited down to the US Open surf championships in Huntington Beach, in the O.C. What a great day out: VIP...sun, sand, surf and, hmmm...itsy bitsy polka dot bikinis ;)

The local boy Brett Simpson was a keen fave, but in the final between Tim Boal (France) and Nathaniel Curran (USA) the Oxnard, California 23 year-old Curran won the judges' votes. The highest score I heard was a "9.0" which caused ripples of dissent in the crowd closest to the action...on the pier.
